On Tuesday December 15th I had a doctors appointment. Keep in mind that I was due on the 13th so I went into my appointment with high hopes that Dr. Kirkman would tell me to go over to the hospital to have this babe. Well, to my surprise that's pretty much what he said. He said that due to my high blood pressure and my swelling from retaining water, that it would be best for my health and for Max's to be induced into labor rather than to wait till he was ready. All through out this pregnancy I wanted to just go into labor on my own, but I wanted me and Max to be safe so I thought that it was a good choice and we went to the hospital at 7:00 p.m.
Shortly after getting there and getting changed they started me on Pitocin and my Anitbiotic because I was Strep B positive. The Antibiotic had to be in me for atleast 2 hours before they could break my water. So 10:00 rolls around and there was still no doctor there that could come in to break my water, 12:00 comes and goes and I was having contractions, but they weren't too bad yet. Finally, 1:30 comes and Dr. Blackett was delivering a baby so they had her come in to break my water and that's when the hard contations started. I was in intense labor for about 3 hours having one contaction after another and then I was finally dialated to a 5, which is what I was wanting to be at before I got my Epidural. I got my Epidural and the first time it didn't work, but the second time, worked like a charm! After that it was pretty much smooth sailing.
I dialated 2 centimeters an hour and by 7:30 a.m. I was ready to push. I pushed for a good 2 hours and out came our beautiful little baby boy Maxon James Nelson! I'm not going to lie his head looked like an alien at first because the poor little man was in the birth canal for so long, and he wasn't really little I just like to say little man! He was born at 9:20 a.m. on December 16th 2009. He weighed 8 lbs even and he was 20 inches long! I would not have been able to make it through my labor without my Brad or my Mom. They were there through everything helping me be strong and make it through it! Thanks guys I love you and am so grateful that you were there!
We couldn't be more excited to have our little boy and after 2 long days in the hospital we were able to take him home! We love being home with him, we are fasinated with his every move and we just lay by him and watch him for hours! Our love for each other has grown tremendously and we love being parents to Max! Life couldn't get much better than this right now!

Right before leaving to go to the hospital...My huge belly!
