Max is 2!!

and the BIG announcement!

I was so excited for Max's Birthday this year! I hadn't spent a ton of time planning a huge party, we were just having some family and friends over for cake and ice cream! Trying to keep it simple this year!

We wanted Max to have a day full of fun and all about him on his Birthday, so I had planned some things that I thought he would like.

First, he woke up and got to open his first present of the day.

Max has this OBSESSION with CARS (that was the theme of his party) so for his present he got a CARS dish set!

PERFECT for eating his birthday breakfast on...no pictures of that...he didn't really feel like eating the pancakes I made him!

After we got ready we headed into town to go bowling!

Max has never been and so I thought that this would be a fun experience for him!

He LOVED it until I let him walk onto the lane...he slipped and fell and then wanted nothing to do with it really!

He threw his bowling shoes off and just wanted to watch mom and dad while he ate his goldfish!

Finally, dad talked him into doing it one more time!

The usual Nelson Family picture...Max screaming cause we took his Bink out!

How am I ever gonna get rid of that dang thing! UGH!!

After bowling it was lunch time!

Max LOVES pizza so we decided to take him to the Pizza Pie Cafe!

It didn't disappoint, we all LOVED it!

Max must have been a really good boy this year because while we were eating Santa stopped in just to say hi to Max, ask him what he wanted for Christmas and give him a treat out of his bag!

Max was in HEAVEN!

I didn't think that he'd sit on his lap, but he went right to him!

Max sure enjoyed his treat from SANTA!

After a fun filled afternoon it was time for Brad and Max to take a much needed nap...

and to my surprise, Max napped for like 4 hours!

I knew this would result in a HAPPY BOY for his party...

well kind of!

He woke up happy and excited to see all his CARS decorations, but the happiness soon turned to sadness when he was told he had to wait for all his friends to come to eat his "QUEEN" cake! lol

It's kind of funny, the DAY he turned 2 began the TERRIBLE 2'S!

My mom did such an awesome job on his cake and Max LOVED it!

he was SPOILED ROTTEN by everyone that came to celebrate his 2nd Birthday!

We opened presents first and Max was LOVING it until we kept taking them away to open more! That's when he started to get a little overwhelmed!

He opened his TRAIN from Nana and Papa....He kept saying "CHOO-CHOO!"

After all of his presents were opened it was time for the very last one....

Max wasn't too excited about opening it so Brad did the honors!

YEP, we'll be a family of 4 come July 6th!

I kept it from everyone, even my MOM for 11 weeks!

Hardest thing ever!

The more we talk about it, the more Max is getting used to it!

He now says that the baby is in mommy's belly and that it's a boy!

Who knows if he is right..I'd be happy with a boy or girl!

I'm now 13 weeks 3 days and I'm feeling ok!

We should find out what we're having the end of January!

After presents we did the "QUEEN" cake and ice cream!

Max did AWESOME at blowing out his candles! First try!

Some things he got were a queen sleeping bag, back pack (which he calls his "PACK PACK!"), Mac the truck, choo choo train, lots of queen stuff (queen...AKA lightning McQueen!), puzzles, books, slippers, jammies, and tons more! He is so spoiled!

This one I LOVE because this is how he tells you he is 2! He puts the tips of his fingers together!

Max,

Mom and dad love you so much and we don't know how we ever lived without you!

You test mom's patients everyday, but you are helping her grow and learn and she LOVES that!

You bring a smile to our faces with your funny words or crazy faces. You are so loving and whenever we need a hug or a kiss we know we can count on you for that! You are so smart and you learn new things everyday! We are amazed at how fast these 2 years have gone, but we can't wait to share so more fun memories with you! You are going to be such an AMAZING big brother no matter if you have a baby sister or a baby brother...they are gonna love you so much and they are lucky because they'll have the world's most AWESOME BIG BROTHER!
